  WINForms-zipForm Renewal Begins: Here are Instructions   

WINForms® users must upgrade to zipForm® 6 by March 31

The automatic renewal prompt in the WINForms®/zipForm® 6 software started March 1. This is the annual renewal that occurs every March to ensure that users are active REALTOR® members and are entitled to this free C.A.R. member benefit. This year, SILVAR members will not only be prompted to renew their software, but they will also be asked to upgrade to zipForm® 6 if they have not already done so.

All WINForms® users must upgrade to zipForm® 6 by March 31. Beginning April 1, access to WINForms® will be terminated.  All users, including those who already upgraded, must renew their user licenses by March 31 to continue receiving access to this valuable resource.  Users who do not renew their license by March 31 will be unable to use the software until they have successfully renewed their user license.

Please upgrade as soon as possible. It is a less stressful situation for members to upgrade now rather than wait and not be able to access the WINForms® with which members are most familiar.

Upgrading from WINForms® to zipForm® 6 is not automatic; users will need to manually upgrade to zipForm® 6. Transactions in WINForms® accounts will not be lost when upgrading to zipForm® 6.  All files will be seamlessly migrated to the new zipForm® 6 account.

zipForm® 6 is available in two versions: zipForm® 6 Professional (formerly WINForms Online®) and zipForm® 6 Standard (formerly WINForms Desktop®). zipForm® 6 Professional enables users to automatically import existing transactions and work online from any computer, and zipForm® 6 Standard allows users to import all previously saved transactions from WINForms® Desktop. Members can upgrade to both zipForm® 6 Professional and zipForm® 6 Standard for free. In addition, the new File Manager enables users to sync all files between their computer and online storage instantly, ensuring users always have the most-recent contracts.

Below is a list of instructions for each user scenario:

I: Renewal process for current zipForm® 6 Professional (Online) users:
1. Upon log-in, the user will be prompted with the Renew Now button.
2. The user will be taken to the dashboard to continue with the renewal process
3. User will need to “Accept” the End User License Agreement, and then click the “Continue” button to complete renewal process
4. User will be taken to the zipForm® 6 Professional page, and prompted with the 14-month storage policy message board. Once they click “Continue”, they are taken to the zipForm® 6 Professional transaction page to access their forms.
5. If the user has zipForm® 6 Standard (Desktop), this will also automatically renew the desktop version. No further action is needed.

II: Renewal process for current zipForm® 6 Standard (Desktop) users:
1. The user double-clicks the zipForm® 6 Standard icon on their desktop and are prompted with the “Renew Now” button. Once user clicks “Renew Now”, the zipForm® 6 Standard application closes.
2. An internet window will open and the user will be taken to the dashboard (an internet connection is required) to continue with the renewal process.
3. The user “Accepts” the End User License Agreement and clicks the “Continue” button.
4. When finished, the user will be shown the message confirming that they have completed the upgrade process.
5. They must double-click the zipForm® 6 Standard icon on their desktop to resume using the software.
6. If the user has zipForm® 6 Professional, this will automatically renew the online version. No further action is needed.

III. Upgrading from WINForms® Desktop:
1. User will be prompted with "Renew Now" message box
2. A Pop-up message will inform the user that they will be taken to http://www.car.org/tools/zipForm6/DesktopUpgrade/
3. User will choose the option to upgrade to zipForm® 6 Standard (new Desktop version)
4. User is taken to the dashboard to select PC or MAC download
5. User goes through the download process by clicking “NEXT” and “Accepts” the End User License Agreement
6. Software validation is required to complete the registration (the same as the current upgrade process). That means they need their www.car.org username and password or their NRDS number and last name.

IV: Upgrading from WINForms Online®:
1. The user will log in through www.car.org.
2. Click the WINForms Online® icon from Quick Links
3. The user will be prompted to click the “Renew Now” button
4. User will be taken to the Dashboard/My Products page, and clicks on “Renew” button
5. The user is then taken to the End User License Agreement page
6. Once the user clicks “Yes” and “Continue”, they’re upgraded to zipForm® 6 Professional
7. The member will then see the “14-month Storage Policy” notice, once they click “Continue,” they’re taken to the transactions page to access the forms.
